I wrote about Hadoop some time ago (for “some reasons”) and I did EXACTLY what Ted Dziubas says here.

But I’m not offended at all: he is 100% right! And I strongly suggest to take a look at this article: in the middle of his swearing there is, actually, some good stuff about “what is going on in the Web2.0 Yet Again Exploding Bubble!!!

A lot of things are happening at the same time: as soon as I have more time I’ll speak about it.

I’ll just make a list of things I would like to speak about… if I would have time to do so:

• My new Job in France Telecom R&D UK - Orange Labs and my work inside the Source of Webkit (and a bit of Opera)
• The fact that Joe Nocera was finally kicked in his balls by a proud Steve Jobs about his health
• Symbian going Open Source AND some (stupid?) rumors about Symbian “merging” with Android
• My aiming to buy a Samsung SM2032MW 20″ Widescreen TV Monitor- Black (that supports HDMI, DVI, RGB, SCART, 1080p/i and so on… (yes, for a PS3 ) )

But… I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing.

No, il Cinguettio questa volta non basta.
Ho una domanda per tutti gli utilizzatori di Microsoft Windows che mi seguono::

MA COME CAZZO FATE AD USARE QUELLA LOTA DI SISTEMA OPERATIVO?

• ho perso tipo 2 settimane un mese fa a configurarlo per bene in una partizione dedicato
• ho installato numero 2 giochi (Gears of War e Race Driver: Grid, due grandissimi giochi) per il puro piacere di dire «Anche io ogni tanto torno bimbio e spendo qualche ora a giocare»
• ho tenuto sempre tutto aggiornato e bello “in forma” (si sa, il suddetto (e cosi’ detto) Sistema Operativo richiede l’attenzione che manco la peggiore delle fidanzate rompipalle richiede)

questa lota di sistema ha deciso che tutti i giochi ora devono girare come se stessero su un Pentium 75Mhz!!! O_o
Ma si puo’ sapere dove sta’ la Computer Science in tutto questo? Un Sistema Operativo che degrada… anche se lo usi solo 1/2 volte a settimana per giocare? Ma si puo’?

Gates e Ballmer: vi deve venire un’ernia di 2 metri, si deve gonfiare come una palla da basket e deve scoppiarvi in faccia!!!

In fondo a cosa mi serve il GPS ed il 3G?
Ad andare piu’ veloce e piu’ facilmente (dato che la copertura 3G e’ di gran lunga superiore a quella 2.5G)?
A poter andare in giro come turista e avere una mappa che mi localizza in maniera ancora piu’ precisa?

Il 2.5G e’ piu’ che sufficiente per: navigare siti web e, soprattutto, email.
Il locationing basato su Triangolazione basta e avanza con uno che ha un buon senso dell’orientamento come me, e permette di imparare anche meglio i luoghi, pur usufruendo della mappa se davvero mi perdo.

Ma… basta un video online di spacchettamenti di quei cazzarielli che fa Mamma Apple, ed io perdo la testa.
Sparatemi in fronte, please! Fatelo per il mio Conto Corrente!

You know, I’m picky when it’s about woman and technology (and food, but not as much as for the previous). Apple, a while ago now, get rid of the the normal/classical keyboard with big and deep keys (that every proper geek/software engineer loves)…

… to replace it with the crap, ultra slim, no-noisy, no-tasty, no-feedback alluminum+plastic keyboard.

A shame. A real shame.

My favourite feature? Discover!
As soon as I installed the addon in Firefox (very notable: it’s already compatible with the brand new version 3 of my favourite browser), I spent something like 40 minutes just browsing the “movies/tv” section, full of very updated and interesting content… and presented in the most “sexy” way I have ever seen.

Again, a great piece of Software. Strongly recommended to give it a go!

PS Just to avoid to forget, Piclens works practically ANY browser .
