Update 14th August 2007: Look at this!!! The first NATIVE GAME for iPhone! Before that Apple itself release any game for it
!!!

It’s true: iPhone is based on Mac OSX and it is quite similar to it. Apple, from the beginning, has chosen to close it, avoiding to release any SDK or stuff like that.
Theoretically, the only thing a developer can do is to work on a Web 2.0/Ajax web app. That is not so bad, but… not enough. At least, for hackers that “likes to know more and more”.
What I like to think is: «The more you Hide, The more I want to See!». And is EXACTLY what’s happening with the iPhone APIs. People (not normal, we are speaking about hackers) are discovering more and more about it. How to unlock it to use different SIM then the AT&T one, the SDK used by Apple programmes of iPhone, the compiler configuration to compile for it (previous knowledge of ARM phones is enough). Just Google for it around and you will find a lot of interesting informations about this.
So, I’d like to highlight just 3 of a lot of interesting posts (all 3 of them are from TUAW):
They are not the best example of what you can find/do: but… try to read them forgetting, for just a second, that you are speaking about iPhone. And then think about the Jobs presentation of it.
How beautiful is the Human Mind? Whatever is the problem, we find almost every time a solution to go ahead. To solve it. To look inside what is closed and hided to our sight. And the world of Computer Science/IT, and particularly the Reverse Engineering, is the one of the best example of these things.

Hi Guys.
I’m part of a very little Gooooogle Group (only 5 members) discussing about an interesting project, PySync.
I’ll not go in details (everything is in the “3″ discussions inside the group), but some interesting ideas are “popping-out”.
Share if you have something to.

Edit: Added a link to the Google Group of the project of Mal about the sync-stuff. It’s name is PySync.
Yesterday I went with a collegue (thank you Serage, particularly for the pictures
) to this event that the Google’s London Office sort twice (or more?) a year. Google London Open Source Jam.
I went for one main reason and other two minors (and… I didn’t know that the most important was another one
):
- The Topic
- To take a look to the Google Office in London (very very close to Victoria Station)
- Free Food (very nice pizza
)
(What’s the “main one” is up to you…
).
The Topic
This time, our topic of interest is Mobile.
- Linux on phones
- JavaME vs JavaSE vs .NET CF vs Native
- Browser technologies: AJAX and Flash
- Building native apps that port to multiple architectures
- Open platforms (e.g. OpenMoko)
- Cross platform testing
- Making the most of mobile hardware (camera, voice, bluetooth, GPS, etc)
- Phone bling

Post of April the 3rd, 2007 (today) taken by the WordPress.org official blog:
WordPress 2.1.3 and 2.0.10
By Matt. Filed under Security, Releases.
We have a security update release now available for both the 2.1 and 2.0 branches of WordPress now available for immediate download. This update is highly recommend for all users of both branches.
These releases include fixes for several publicly known minor XSS issues, one major XML-RPC issue, and a proactive full sweep of the WordPress codebase to protect against future problems. Many thanks to Sumit Siddharth and Alex Concha for their help with reporting issues in this release.
As an update to the systems issue we had last month, we have taken dozens of additional precautions with the servers and systems that run WordPress.org and they appear to be working well, despite hundreds of hack attempts after we publicly disclosed there had been a problem. We are also now aggressively monitoring all downloads for any changes or modifications, and we are confident the same type of problem won’t happen again.
If you are on 2.1, it’s useless to do backups or something like it: the wp-admin/upgrade.php script will not touch the DB. So… update peacefully (and pleasantly). For the others still on 2.0.x: why not upgrade now?
